Where we can incorporate embroidery into your wedding

Today's topic is one that I really enjoy and that sparks my imagination. Every now and then I find myself thinking of new and interesting places where it would be possible to add embroidery for a never-before-seen effect, and I can think of countless new places on which you could create unexpected customizations that might surprise you and your guests!

Below I will give you some ideas with the hope that one of you will be inspired and can create a unique project!

I will start by making a small preface for those who are not familiar with the embroidery technique: not only is it possible to embroider all kinds of fabrics (from the finest to the heaviest), but it is also possible to create embroideries on natural bases such as paper or foliage but also plastic, metal, wood, and much more if pierced beforehand!

So as you can see, the materials and surfaces are endless, you just need to have the right intuition!

The most natural thing if we think about the wedding + embroidery combination is the (somewhat more obvious) one of embroidering on textile surfaces, which, it will certainly be obvious, but it is certainly a broad topic and one that already encompasses mooong things (so I'll go fast)!

Because in addition to the possibility of being able to embroider the wedding dress, the groomsmen's and bridesmaids' dresses, the flower girls' dresses, and the groom's dress (with the initials and date inside the dress), it is also possible to create embroidery on the men's clutch bags, the women's accessories, the tear-gathering handkerchiefs for the guests, the ribbons of the bouquet, the fabric napkins of the table mis en place, the wedding favors, the wedding ring pillow, the tableaux de mariage, and you name it!

(I will include some photos below to show you, in broad strokes what I am imagining.)

And if apparently this already sounds like a lot and for some not so much of a given, now I want to up the ante and tell you about the pro level of wedding embroidery.

As mentioned in the brief introduction, actually everything is embroiderable if it is prepared in the right way! Because as impossible as it is to make a hole in wood, metal and ceramics with a small needle, if pierced beforehand, with the right tools it gives us the opportunity to embroider it, giving us a surprising and unique effect.

But let's talk about one material at a time.

The Charter

I love paper, it inspires me a lot for my projects and I find it to be a very versatile material (as well as easy to punch almost as easy as fabric). We can really play around with this material and create unique effects without too much trouble.

We can, in fact, think about embroidering the invitations or create a fil rouges for the wedding stationary (invitations, save the date, invitations, ceremony booklet, table plan, menu, favor tags and the thank you cards), embroider the welcome bags by embroidering not only the bag but also the fans, tear-gathering handkerchiefs, and you name it, and (if we start a bit early) you can opt to have your graphic designer customize the bottle labels and have them embroidered before attaching them to it.

An unusual cue? Opt for a paper or fabric bridal bouquet and embroider on the different components of the bouquet!

(Almost no products on this bulletin board are actually embroidered.)

The most unusual materials such as: wood, metal and ceramics

Get it out of your head that you can embroider something on which or into which food or liquids of any kind will be poured, but why not think about embroidered centerpieces?

Or why not embroider the arch that will be the backdrop for your ceremony or the chairs on which you will sit for the ceremony? If we think about it, we have many objects around us that day and all with their own potential! One of them is the plaques that some couples choose to hang behind their chairs or the car that will take them from one location to another. These are usually made of wood or metal and could easily be personalized with the use of embroidery.

Another idea? The cake topper... You could buy a topper made of wood or another material and through simple holes embroider it with initials or symbols that represent you... Actually we could really do anything!
